The vehicle for quality assessment and multi-center research

The long term success of medicine is reliant upon research.  The mission of the Wound Data Registry Project is to strengthen the validity and value of the scientific evidence base for wound healing.

Program development is underway to assemble a multidisciplinary team who agree to work together using a common set of policies and share a common repository, identify core data elements, develop web-enabled software that minimizes burdens and disruptions to enrollees, integrate evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and performance measures into the electronic health record (EHR), and standardize methodologies to aggregate and analyze submitted data.  In the long-term, the Wound Data Registry represents a strategic initiative aimed at developing the architecture necessary to incorporate clinical research on wound healing into the National Health Information Network.
